As successful business owners with a young family, Shane and Angelina have a hectic schedule just like the rest of us. However, through personal development, they have found balance in life, and this allows them to thrive in even the most stressful of situations.
Life was not always easy for Shane and Angelina. Shane was in the Australian Defence Force for 13 years, but after completing the SAS course, he was not selected for further training. As a result of this crushing blow, he decided to leave the military.
Angelina, on the other hand, came from a broken home. In 2007, after losing three loved ones in a short space of time, she turned to prescription and recreational drugs and alcohol, and took on two jobs to pay for her lifestyle. After a year, she decided her body could not cope with the physical stress anymore, and she made a choice to take responsibility for herself and to find real, sustainable happiness.
A New Beginning
Angelina and Shane met in early 2008, and it wasn’t long before Angelina had moved from the States to Australia to start a new life with Shane. In 2010, their first child was born. During this time, Angelina was struggling to cope with the pressures of being far from home with a business to run and a young family. She also had post-baby blues.
This difficult time made Angelina realise that she needed to do something BIG in order to make lasting changes to her health and wellbeing.
With Shane to support her, over the next five years Angelina worked tirelessly to create a life she was inspired to live for. She and Shane spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on life and business education, all the time furthering their personal development and honing their skills for dealing with people and stress.
It’s Not All Plain Sailing
In 2012, Shane and Angelina went broke, so they had to take stock of what went wrong and apply everything they had learned so far along the way.
Pushing themselves outside their comfort zones, they found that making small but practical changes to their lifestyle made a significant difference to the quality of their lives.
With a second daughter born in 2013 and now several businesses on the go, Shane and Angelina once more felt that their work-life balance was not optimal. Through perseverance they developed strategies to address this, and to make sure work was aligned with life.
